How to Recover an Ottoman
- 1). Tear any seams of the fabric currently covering the ottoman with a seam ripper--a small device that rips open seams and can be found at most fabric supply stores. Seams are usually sewn around the top of the ottoman and along its four corners.
- 2). Tear off the fabric where it connects at the ottoman's bottom panel. Use pliers to pry open any staples or nails that may hold the fabric in place. You should now be able to gently loosen the fabric from the ottoman and peel it away completely.
- 3). Lay a piece of fabric over the top of the now-bare ottoman, so the center of the fabric is directly above the center of the ottoman's top surface.
- 4). Wrap the edges of the fabric around the ottoman's bottom panel, as if you were wrapping a present. Attach the fabric with a staple gun and trim away any excess.
