How to Stop Static Cling
- 1). Run a wire coat hanger up and down the length of the garment and inside of it.
- 2). Place the clothing in the bathroom on a hanger after or while the shower is running and there is plenty of steam. The moisture in the air will get rid of the wrinkles.
- 3). Rub a dryer sheet over the garment to alleviate static cling.
- 4). Rub lotion on your body before putting on the garment. The lotion will help to counter the static.
- 5). Take the clothes out of the dryer before they are completely dry and hang them to air dry while they are still a little damp.
- 6). Put water in a spray bottle and spray it before walking into it while wearing the clothes. The moisture will get rid of the static.
- 7). Pour 1/2 cup of vinegar into the washing machine during the wash cycle. Be sure not to use bleach at the same time as the two do not mix well.
- 8). Place a piece of aluminum foil in the dryer to help avoid static cling from building up while the clothes are drying.
