How to Apply for a Business License in Lodi, California
- 1). Go to the City of Lodi Business Tax Input page in your web browser.
- 2). Complete the online form, entering all applicable information. The city requires that all applicants provide general contact information (owner's name, address, phone number), the business name (which you enter in the "DBA" field) and the EIN number of the business or owner's social security number. If you do not have an EIN number, you can get one through the IRS. Also, if you have applied for and received a contractor's license or a seller's permit, include the numbers in the specified fields. Click "Next" to continue once all of your information has been entered.
- 3). Verify the accuracy of your inputted information on the confirmation screen. If all of the information is correct, print the Business Tax Application displayed on the screen.
- 4). Sign and date the Business Tax Application and mail it to the address listed at the top of the application. When mailing the application, include a check made payable to "The City of Lodi" in the amount of the applicable fees listed below the signature line. As of June 2010, most businesses are subject to a $50 fee, however manufacturing businesses and auto dealers are required to pay a $200 fee.
