Wedding Favors For Children
Wedding Favors take up a fair bit if your wedding budget.
Should you give them to children? Kids seem to be more disruptive and in-your-face these days.
Certainly other people's children aren't the little darlings you'd like them to be.
However, children are people too and your wedding is not going to be half the fun for a many of your guests if they cannot bring their kids along to enjoy the festivities.
If that's the case, you should make plans for them.
No! I do not mean a strait-jacket each.
Be kind! I mean you should plan things for their particular enjoyment.
The decision to include children is your own to make.
I would include them.
The more chaos the merrier and more memorable the occasion.
My brother, on the other hand, believes that wedding receptions are no place for children, can be dangerous for them, and their parents have a more enjoyable time without them.
So it's your choice.
You shouldn't invite children to your reception and then ignore the fact of their being there! They see their Mommy getting a wedding gift and would feel "left out" if they did not get one too.
This normally means giving a different wedding favor to the children because mostly the gifts the adults receive would not be appreciated by children.
Let's examine some of the options.
Sometimes the wedding favor given to adults is such that it can be appreciated by all ages , children and adults, and the problem is solved.
But think very carefully of the consequences.
If it is an edible favor be sure that they are suitable for the tiny tots.
You may have to give different favors depending on the age of the children.
Toddlers certainly will not appreciate the type of favor given to pre-teens and vice versa.
Many couples are allowing children at the reception only up to a certain hour and then having a children's room suitably supervised where they can retire.
You can kill two birds with one stone by having a an activities pack favor for the children which will help occupy them while their perents party on.
Stuffed animals are another option for a wedding favor for children.
You can purchase stuffed animals with a wedding related theme such as a bride and groom teddy bear which would be appropriate for a wedding favor.
Perhaps you can seek out stuffed animals which match the theme of the wedding.
For instance, you may give the children a teddy bear dressed for the beach at a beach themed wedding or a stuffed penguin dressed like Santa Claus for a Christmas wedding.
Still another option for giving wedding favors to children is to just give the children a small toy which is appropriate for their ages.
These toys can be purchased at any store selling children's toys rather than at distributors of wedding favors.
If you know the children personally you can select toys which suit their interests.
However, if you only know the age of the children who will be in attendance you can simply seek out toys which are appropriate for boys and girls of that age.
Finally, couples who are unsure of what type of wedding favor to give to children can always resort to an edible wedding favor.
Even if the adults will not be given an edible favor, the couple may decide to give the children edible favors.
Edible favors can range to photo cookies with a picture of the bride and the groom to candy bars with the couples name and the date of the wedding.
The children in attendance are much more likely to be impressed with a wedding favor of cookies or candy than they will with the more sophisticated wedding favors the couple selects for the adults in attendance.
At a family oriented wedding you will have children whether you want to or not.
You want your whole family there and the kids are part of the family.
A little preparation beforehand and everything will go beautifully.
