Geocaching Across The World

105 9
Have you heard about geocaching? Since I luxuriate in the fresh air so much, a friend at work proposed I check out geocaching. It sounded like something right up my alley. You have to have a GPS device system before you can go geocaching, so naturally, my biggest question was, "what is the best GPS for geocaching?"

For those of you that don't know, geocaching is a high tech treasure hunt. You, you and partner, your family or even you and a team use a GPS to discover a cache of sorts. These treasures are located throughout the world. Be forewarned, once you start learning about it, you will feel like you are the one who has been under a rock. It will seem anyone is doing geocaching but you.

I have been online reading magazines and found the noteworthy consensus for getting the best GPS for geocaching consist of 3 things.

(1) Make sure the screen has a sizable display. You don't want to be wandering around in unfamiliar territory and then have some display screen that you have to put up to your nose to go over.

(2) For those just starting out, you desire to get quality, but yet not pay out so much money you have to eat beans for months on end. Searching online for the greatest deals is where you will uncover the biggest bang for your buck and the GPS best prices.

One last tip: Are you a hiking/camping geocacher or a city geocacher? Do you like to spend time hiking in the woods or do you eat up hanging out more so in the city?

(3) You have to decide which type of geocacher you are? Why, because that is a big factor in determining what type of GPS to buy. The up-to-the-minute mapping features that city geocachers need are pricier than those that hiking/camping geocachers need. Obviously, don't get something you don't need.

Geocaching is fun and offers many benefits. Everyone from beginners to the most experienced can enjoy the outdoors as well as the excitement of finding a hidden treasure. When all is said and done, the best GPS for geocaching comes down to your skill level and preference
