Winter Haven, as the name implies, is an escape from winter for people living north of Florida. The area has more than 50 lakes. The area is warm enough for year-round outdoor activities. Orlando and Tampa are both reachable in less than an hour. The area has many campgrounds and RV parks available. - Cypress Gardens Campground is an established facility located between Tampa and Orlando. The campground is 120 acres, and there are 120 RV sites for campers. Sites have full hookups - water, sewer and electric - with 50 amp connections available. Free Wi Fi is also available. The campground has a swimming pool, bocci courts, shuffleboard, horseshoe pits and a community room with a full kitchen. Restrooms, showers and laundry facilities are also available.

All 40 of the lots are large and shaded. Thirty-two sites have full hookups (water, sewer and electric), and eight have water and electric only. There are two tent camping areas. The facility has a screened picnic area with grills, a swimming pool, laundry and shower facilities as well as a recreation room with a big-screen TV and Internet access.
