Bows

• For a traditional approach, attach bows to the end of the pews. You can purchase bows at your local craft store, or create your own. Choose large bows to make a powerful statement or small bows to play up the quaintness of your church or to make the large space warmer. Consider a garland of small bows that droop from each pew's arm, as well. To add variety, alternate the colors of your bows every other pew. Don't overdo it--two to three colors is plenty.
  
  

Ribbon for Hanging Objects

• Choose a soft, satiny ribbon in your wedding colors (or seasonal colors) and attach something else to it. Pomander balls---small, round floral arrangements---look so beautiful when tied with ribbon and hung over the arm of each pew. Also try hanging pendants or paper cones filled with herbs, dried flowers or a few fresh stems. You can also use the ribbon to tie your wedding program to the pew, or a paper fan for those hot, summer days when a little breeze is nice.
  
  

Ribbon Accents

• Use your ribbon as an accent for pew decorations. For example, wrap the bottom of a bouquet with ribbon for a modern and sophisticated look. Or you can let the green stems show and tie the middle of your bouquet with the ribbon of your choice. Be sure to choose a color and texture that enhances your arrangement and brings out the flowers.
  
  You can do the same thing with nonfloral arrangements. Try tying the ribbon around a collection of twigs and adhere the arrangement to the pew arm itself or let it sit next to the pew. This type of arrangement is especially fitting for fall and spring. For winter months, consider collecting vibrant red berries and tie them up with the ribbon as you would with the twigs.
