How to Make a Recovery Disk on My Laptop
- 1). Click the "Start" menu in the bottom left-hand corner of your desktop.
- 2). Select the "All Programs" option, then click the "Maintenance" folder.
- 3). Click on the "Create a Recovery Disk" icon to open the Windows recovery disk creation program.
- 4). Insert a blank CD or DVD into your optical disk drive when you're prompted to do so; enter your Windows Vista installation CD when the program requests it.
- 1). Click the "Start" button in the bottom-left corner of your desktop; select "All Programs."
- 2). Click the "Accessories" folder from the programs list; click "System Tools" and then on the "Backup" icon. On the welcome screen, click "Advanced Mode."
- 3). Click "Advanced System Recovery Wizard." Follow the prompts in the wizard.
- 4). Insert blank CDs or DVDs into your CD or DVD-ROM tray when prompted and click the "Next" button. Continue to do so until the recovery process completes.
- 1). Click the "Start" menu in the bottom-left corner of your desktop and open up the "Control Panel."
- 2). Click the "System and Security" icon and click on the "Backup & Restore" option.
- 3). Click on the "Create a system image" icon and then insert a blank CD/DVD in to your disk drive.
- 4). Specify the drive you just entered the blank disk into and click on "Create Disk." Windows will begin creating your recovery disk and you will see a progress bar appear. Once the progress bar has finished click "OK" and remove your recovery disk from your disk tray.
