How to Remove Sulfur Stains on a Sidewalk From Well Water
- 1). Pour white distilled vinegar onto the sulfur stains. Let the vinegar soak into the cement for five minutes to help break down the minerals in the stain.
- 2). Pour more vinegar over the stain and sprinkle liberally with borax. The borax will help break the stains down further and their crystalline form will act as an abrasive scrubbing agent to help get into all of the small pores in the cement.
- 3). Scrub the stain vigorously with a stiff-bristled scrub brush or steel wool. If the stains are particularly stubborn, use a metal scrub brush.
- 4). Rinse the area completely with water. Allow the sidewalk to dry. Repeat the process if any stains remain.
