How to Make a Carolina Rig
- 1). Cut a piece of fishing line. This piece of line will be used to make the leader. Leader length vary between 12-36 inches depending on the fishing conditions.
- 2). Tie the leader to the swivel with a palomar knot. You must tie the swivel to the leader first.
- 3). Thread the weight or weight onto the main line. The main line is the line that is connected to the fishing pole. Some people like to use two smaller weights instead of one large weight.
- 4). Thread the red bead onto the main line behind the weight.
Then thread the brass clicker on behind the red bead.
Then thread the clear bead onto the line behind the brass clicker. - 5). Now tie the main line to the other side of the swivel.
- 6). Now tie on a offset hook on the end of the leader at the desired length from the swivel. Weedless rig any soft plastic on the hook. You can take this rig through some heavy cover and bring out some hawgs.
