How to Clean Leather Brass Snaps
- 1). Dampen a soft cotton cloth, cotton ball or cotton swab in cool running water.
- 2). Wipe the brass snaps to remove dirt, dust and residue.
- 3). Dry the snap with a cotton cloth. Thoroughly dry the brass to prevent rust and tarnish.
- 4). Dampen a cleaning eraser under running water if the snap is not yet clean. Rub it on the brass snap to remove any remaining residue or stains. Repeat Steps 1 through 3 to remove any cleaning eraser residue from the snap.
- 1). Apply a pea-size drop of a brass cleaner to a soft cotton cloth.
- 2). Rub the cleaner directly onto the brass, being careful not to get the cleaner on the leather. Allow the cleaner to dry completely on the snap.
- 3). Use a dry, cotton cloth to polish the brass cleaner from the brass snap. Working the rag in a circular motion over the snap will polish and shine the brass.
- 4). Dip a cotton swab in water. Lightly dab away any remaining polish residue or residue stuck in between the crevices of the snap.
