How to Make a Tiffany Wedding Card Box
- 1). Pick a box for your project. A cake box works nicely because it’s large enough to hold the cards but not large enough that it overpowers the gift table. Look for a box without a lid, as the bulkiness of the lid detracts from the finished project and makes it harder to wrap.
- 2). Unroll a sheet of the robin’s egg blue paper. Set the box, topside down, on your paper. Wrap as you would any other gift, using clear tape and scissors. Simply tape the paper onto the top of the box, then tape the sides in place and trim off any excess paper. Use more clear tape to hold down any loose pieces of paper.
- 3). Cut a slot in the box for the wedding cards using your utility knife. The slot should be at least 8 inches long and 1/2 inch thick to compensate for the different sizes of wedding cards. Use a light hand to avoid leaving behind jagged edges.
- 4). Lay out a piece of white tulle. Set the box directly on top of the tulle, topside up. Pull the tulle up and tie it in the center of the box. Twist the tulle so it faces the sides without any tulle. Turn the box onto its top and tie off the tulle. Trim the edges with your scissors.
- 5). Create a bow with another piece of tulle to sit on top of the box. Place a dab of hot glue on the top of the box and press down on the bow until the glue dries. Use your utility knife to trim the edges of the tulle where it crosses your card slot. Apply a dab of hot glue to the end of the ribbon, poke it through the hole and press it against the inside of the box until it dries.
