How to Make a Calla Lilly Bridal Bouquet
- 1). Place fresh calla lilies in a tall vase with cold water. If keeping overnight, place the vase in the refrigerator.
- 2). Lay out newspaper or a washable table covering on your workspace. Take out the vase from the refrigerator. Pull out a calla lily and place the tape measure directly underneath the bloom. Draw downward 12 inches and cut the stem straight across.
- 3). Cut two 6-inch pieces of floral tape and set aside. Hold a single calla lily in your hand. Pick up one calla lily at a time and add it around the center lily, making sure the bottoms line up. Continue doing this until the bouquet is complete.
- 4). Stand the bouquet on a table and hold it with one hand. Using the other hand, wrap one piece of the floral tape 6 inches down from the bloom. The stems should all be next to each other, not crossed. Wrap the other piece around the stems in about the same spot.
- 5). Lay the bouquet gently down on a clean surface. Put the ribbon behind the bouquet at 1 1/2 inches down from the floral base. Draw the two ends together so that the stems are in the middle of the ribbon.
- 6). Wrap the two ribbons around the front of the bouquet and twist one end around the other. Stick a bouquet pin into the twist.
- 7). Pull the two ends to the back, cross one another and wrap both around to the front.
- 8). Make another twist at the front and wrap the ribbon around to the back. Continue the twisting in front motion and wrapping in the back until you reach the desired spot at the bottom of the bouquet. Tie a bow at the bottom. Place pins in the center of each twist to secure.
- 9). Fill a spray bottle with water. Spray the flowers 5 minutes before walking down the aisle.
