How Do I Use Vinegar As a Laundry Softener?
- To use vinegar as a laundry softener, add 1/2 cup of vinegar to your washing machine's rinse cycle for an average sized load of laundry. Add more vinegar if you are doing a larger load.
- Vinegar works naturally to soften clothing, break down harsh laundry detergent, remove residue left by soap, reduce static cling and make towels more absorbent. It also is extremely inexpensive compared to commercial fabric softeners.
- Although vinegar smells strongly as a liquid, the scent will disappear as your clothes dry. It also won't damage your washing machine.
