How to Burn a Movie From iMovie to a DVD on Your Mac Laptop
- 1). Create and edit your iMovie project until you are satisfied with the final product.
- 2). Click the iMovie "Share" menu. Scroll to iDVD.
- 3). Click "Create a New Project" from the iDVD pop up dialog box. Enter a project name in the "Save As" text box. Choose a location on your computer and enter it in the "Where" text box.
- 4). Select the aspect ratio of your iMovie. Choose "Standard" which will crop the frame to fit the window, or "Widescreen" to choose a full frame version. Click "Create".
- 5). Choose a theme style from the pull down menu to the right of the main iDVD project pane. Add photos to your drop-zones from your iPhoto library by dragging and dropping into the main project window, or audio from your iTunes library by highlighting the title of the music, then clicking the forward-facing arrow.
- 6). Check your iDVD project when you are finished. Click the "Map" button in the bottom toolbar. Look for yellow or red warnings that your project is in complete or missing elements.
- 7). Click the "Burn" icon at the bottom of the toolbar when you are satisfied with the iDVD project. Insert a blank DVD in the optical drive and wait for the iDVD project to burn to the disk.
