Recipe

• Place a rag or washcloth inside of a small tin, and soak it with citronella oil. Cover the tin and wait 24 hours to allow it to cure before using.
  
  

Alternatives

• If you don't like or can't obtain citronella oil, several other fly-repelling oils can be used. Some alternatives include lavender oil, pennyroyal oil, eucalyptus oil and lemongrass oil.
  
  

Use

• Remove the lid and set the open tin in the location from which you want to repel flies. You can make several of these to keep flies away from a large area.
