How to Store Red Pontiac Potatoes
- 1). Dig up the potatoes and leave them laying on the soil for approximately two hours to dry.
- 2). Remove as much excess dirt and soil from the potatoes after the time elapses. Move the potatoes inside.
- 3). Line the racks or pallets with triple layers of newspaper. Place the Red Pontiacs onto the pallets in a single layer so they do not touch.
- 4). Stack the racks or pallets in a cool and dry location and store them for two to three months.
- 5). Check the Red Pontiac potatoes every two or three weeks for signs of spoilage. If you find potatoes with soft spots, spoiled areas or sprouts growing, remove them and discard them.
