How to Clean Silk
- 1). Fill a sink, bath tub or utility sink with enough lukewarm water to cover the silk item. Add 1 or 2 tsp. of mild laundry detergent or baby shampoo to the water.
- 2). Place the silk item into the water, and swish it around gently to loosen and remove any dirt or stains. Don't soak the silk item for more than 5 minutes.
- 3). Drain the water from the sink or tub, and fill it with lukewarm water. Add 1 tsp. white vinegar to help rinse the soap residue.
- 4). Swish the silk items in the water gently to remove any soap residue.
- 5). Lay out a clean towel. Remove the silk items from the tub or sink, and lay it flat onto the towel. Roll the towel and the silk item together. The towel will absorb any extra moisture from the silk.
- 6). Hang the silk items to air dry in a well-ventilated area.
