Antigua and Barbuda Voted Most Romantic Caribbean Destination
The twin-nation of Antigua and Barbuda has been voted in About.com's Romantic Reader's Choice Awards as the Most Romantic Caribbean Destination.
The islands are a favourite for destination weddings and romantic honeymoons with their sweeping sandy beaches, turquoise ocean, coconut palm trees, and sunny blue skies.
Beating St Lucia, Jamaica and The Bahamas to the top spot, Antigua and Barbuda received 62 per cent of the votes which were decided by readers of About.com.
The Caribbean destination was voted as the "Sexiest Destination by Caribbean Travel and Life Magazine earlier this year and the islands were voted among the top 10 honeymoon destinations in the Caribbean by BRIDES Magazine in 2011.

The US Director of Tourism, Derede Samuel-Whitlock, explained that this year's Romance promotions in the U.S will be highlighted across the country.
"Integrating the About.com winner's seal into our marketing collateral will help solidify Antigua & Barbuda's image as a premier destination for weddings and honeymoons and help reinforce our core message," he said.
The promotions highlights the islands to couples who are planning destination weddings but have not yet decided on a location.
