How to Make a Pegasus Costume
- 1). Wear long, white pants and a tight-fitting white top as a base for this costume. Add a pair of white shoes or sneakers.
- 2). As your arms will be supporting the wings, create the horse's front legs from the white socks. Stuff them with batting and pin them to the front of your shirt. Cut brown craft foam into hoof shapes and glue them to the ends of the socks. Cut two more hooves to glue or pin to your sneakers.
- 3). Cut a large piece of white felt into two wing shapes as long as your arms. Cover each wing with white feathers. Glue the feathers on with hot glue. Work in rows, starting at the bottom of the wing and working upward. Alternatively, cut feather shapes from white craft foam and glue them on in the same way.
- 4). Glue two lengths of ribbon to the underside of each wing, one at each end, to tie around your arms and hold the wings in position.
- 5). Make a white horse mask from a paper plate or use a printable mask such as the one shown on the Tate Kids website. To make a paper plate mask, cut the plate in half, adding a curve in the center for the bridge of the nose. Cut eyeholes and glue on long ear shapes. Use white face paint to color the bottom half of your face.
