How to Send Compressed Photos in Mac OSX
- 1). Highlight all of the photos you want to compress, using your mouse. Just place all of the images in a single location, such as in a folder or on your desktop, hold down your mouse button and drag the mouse over every image, highlighting the entire set. Alternatively, you can hold down "Shift" and click each image file. If compressing a single image, skip to Step 2.
- 2). Hold "CTRL" on your keyboard and click one of your highlighted image files to reveal a pop-up list. If your Mac uses a two-button mouse, you can right-click an image (click the file with the button appearing on the right side of the mouse), rather than holding "CTRL."
- 3). Click the "Compress" option on your pop-up menu. If using an older version of Mac OS X, specifically 10.4 (Tiger) or earlier, click the option that reads "Create Archive." A new compressed file will appear on your desktop, ending with the extension ".zip," containing all of your image files.
- 4). Send your compressed photo(s). To send via email, open your email client or email Web server, click the "Compose" or "New Message" option, select "Add Attachment" and select your ".zip" file from your desktop. Then send your message as you would any other email. To send using an online upload service, visit a Website such as RapidShare, SendSpace or YouSendIt (see Resources), upload your ".zip" file using the "Upload" field, enter a recipient's email address in the "To" or "Recipient" field and click "Send."
