How to Make Cobia Jigs
- 1). Add glue to the top of the hook and push the large eye jighead onto the shank. Grip the hook, curve side out, in the vise jaws.
- 2). Spiral tight wraps of thread around the shaft of the hook, all the way down to the curve.
- 3). Trim a section of the sea witch fibers so it is longer than the hook shank by 1/2 to 2/3 inch. Push the fibers up to where the jighead meets the shank and tighten it to the shank using four or five wraps of thread.
- 4). Separate five or six strands of Mylar and place them around the sea witch fiber. Tie it to the shank with five or six wraps of thread.
- 5). Push the sea witch fibers forward (against the flow) to fluff out the jig. Take it out of the jaws and use it for a day of fishing.
