How to Connect a Computer Monitor to a Cable
- 1). Set up your monitor on your desk or other surface where you will lose it. Set up your computer near the monitor, no more than a few feet away. Plug in the monitor to a power source.
- 2). Look at your computer monitor cable and see what color the ends are. If you see blue on the ends, you will need to connect one end to the blue port at the back of your monitor. If you see white on the ends, you will need to connect one end to the white port at the back of your monitor. Once the cable has been inserted into the port on your computer monitor, tighten the knobs on both sides of the cable to secure it in place.
- 3). Connect the other end of the monitor cable to the blue or white port on the back of your computer, depending on what color the cable is. Tighten the knobs on this cable, as well. You can now turn on your computer and use your monitor.
