How to Remove Ink From Car Fabric
- 1). Blot any pooling ink floating on top of the car fabric with a paper towel. Do not rub. Rubbing will only spread the stain further into the upholstery.
- 2). Spray hairspray lightly over the entire stain and allow the spray to soak in for five minutes. Gently wipe the affected area with a clean, dry paper towel or terry cloth towel. Do not reuse the paper towel or terry cloth towel as they can re-stain new areas of the fabric.
- 3). Apply more hairspray and repeat the process as necessary using clean, dry towels each time. Each application will lift another layer of staining ink from the fabric.
- 4). Apply rubbing alcohol to the stained area using a cotton swab. Allow the alcohol to set for a five minutes before rubbing the stain with a clean paper towel or terry cloth towel.
- 5). Use a specialty leather stain remover if your car has leather upholstery. Specialty cleaners are available at most auto supply stores. Leather is generally more sensitive to chemicals. You can accidentally ruin the upholstery by using cleaning products intended for cloth interiors.
