Printing Directions for Invitations
- 1). Include a "directions card" in the envelope with each invitation. On this envelope, include the name and telephone number of the venue in case the guests get lost, as well as the street address.
- 2). Draw a simple map for your guests on the invitation template, guiding them from the main thoroughfare, such as the interstate. Only include roads that the guests will need to drive on, which will keep the map simple. Give the name of the streets the guests will need to take, and place a cross at the church, as well as the place they will need to park.
- 3). Print different maps if you have guests coming from different locations. For example, if you have many guests who will be renting a car from the airport, give them a map which directs them from there. Similarly, if you have some guests who will be attending only the reception, give them a map directly to the location.
- 4). Practice driving the map you have drawn to see if you have missed any crucial information. If part of the journey is complicated, make a note on the map, and state clearly which option to take. Include landmarks if street names are not always visible.
- 5). Take your map to the printer, and they will be able to make you a map card to send out with your invitations. Ensure that if you have given different maps to different people, that everyone gets the correct directions.
