How to Add Memory to the AOpen MiniPC Duo
- 1). Turn your MiniPC off. Remove all power and data cables and place the computer on a clean table or desk.
- 2). Insert the screwdriver into the gap below the top cover on the front of the computer. Gently lever the cover up until it snaps out. Be gentle: swift or jerky movements will crack the plastic. Set the cover aside.
- 3). Remove the four screws holding the metal plate in place. Observe the housing; unlike a regular computer, the DVD and hard drives are attached to a bracket that plugs directly into the motherboard.
- 4). Remove the four screws holding the bracket onto the housing. Grasp either side of the bracket and pull straight up until it is free. Place the bracket on the table upside down so that the electrical contacts aren't touching anything.
- 5). Pull the tabs holding the memory in place away from either side of the DIMM. Pull the DIMM away from the motherboard until it comes loose and set it aside. Insert the new DIMM into the slot and push the tabs back into place.
- 6). Insert the top bracket back into the motherboard and screw it in place. Replace the metal plate, screw it down, and replace the plastic top.
- 7). Move your computer back to its normal place and reconnect all power and data cords. Turn your computer on.
