How to Display Computer Images on a TV or HDTV
- 1). Turn off the computer. Locate the output monitor jack on your computer. If your computer only has one monitor output jack, disconnect the monitor cable from the computer so you can use the jack. The output monitor jack is a female jack which means items are plugged into it. The jack is D-shaped with 15 inlet holes
- 2). Connect the male jack (the part that plugs in) of the monitor VGA cable into the female monitor output jack on the computer. Connect the other end to the television monitor input jack. If you're using an S-video cable, look next to the monitor jack for a round-shaped video output jack with inlet holes (female jack). Connect the S-video cable. Connect the other end to the television's S-video input jack.
- 3). Turn on the television and the computer. Wait a few minutes for the operating system to load. If your computer's start up window display doesn't show up on your television, hold the function key down and click "F4." If the monitor still doesn't show the computer's display screen, look at the function keys for the icon that looks like a computer screen, and hold the function key down along with that key.
- 4). Click "Start," and then "My Pictures." Select a folder containing images you want displayed on the television by moving the cursor on the folder, and right-click once. In the window on the left labeled "Picture Task," click "Viewed as a sideshow." The pictures in that folder display one at a time with built-in transitions between each of the pictures.
