    Sutter's Fort

    • Visit the reconstruction of the famous 1840s fort built by John Sutter. This fort was famous during the Gold Rush and is now a museum full of artifacts from that era, including items from John Sutter, himself. Discover the history of early California and provide your kids with an exciting learning experience.

    The Point

    • Take your kids to this small amusement park where they can experience some of the classic State Fair rides including the roller coaster, carousel and Tilt-A-Whirl. Maybe the bumper cars or go-karts are more your thing. The park also has a batting cage and a mini-golf course maze.

    Sacramento Zoo

    • Visit the 138 species at the Sacramento Zoo, a Sacramento attraction for both adults and children. You'll find many rare and endangered animals at this zoo including the margay, snow leopard, Sumatran tiger or the mongoose lemur. The specialization in these rare species makes this zoo stand out among many California visitor sites.

    Raging Waters

    • Have an outdoor adventure by taking the 25 water rides in this thrilling water park. Rides like Canonball Falls, the Hurricane, and the Shark Attack complex will fill your summer vacation day with plenty of excitement. Check out Hooks Lagoon which is complete with five stories of tubes and slides. If you want something slower-paced, wander over to the lazy river and relax in a cool current.

    Sacramento Fine Arts Center

    • Not only can you view a wonderful art gallery at the Sacramento Fine Arts Center, but visitors also receive artistic instruction. Many exhibits are on display throughout the year and some artwork is often up for sale, so bring your pocketbook. Take art classes in several different mediums and tailored to your skill level. Each second Saturday of the month, partake in the festivities for the Second Saturday Art Walk.
