How to Connect Two PC's Via Wireless Cards
- 1). Setup the wireless access point. This may be a wireless router that connects to your high speed Internet modem, or it may be a wireless bridge that connects to your current router or switch. Check the manual for the default wireless network name.
- 2). Install the wireless cards into the computers. Follow the enclosed directions carefully. Some cards require the software to be installed before the card, others require the card to be installed first.
- 3). Double click the wireless icon in the Windows system tray at the bottom right of the screen. This will bring up a list of available wireless networks. Click the name of your network, then click "Connect." Do this for each computer.
- 4). Right click "My Computer" on the Windows desktop. Choose "Properties." Choose the "Computer Name" tab and make sure both computers are on the same workgroup. If not, click "Change" then alter one to match the other. Restart and the computers will be connected.
