How to Reset a Dell GX240 BIOS Password
- 1). Turn the computer off and unplug all of the cables.
- 2). Turn the computer around so it stands straight up with the back facing you. Grab the top of the computer and carefully lower it down to the left. The computer should now be sitting on its side. If the computer has a stand on the bottom, remove the screw at the bottom of the stand and take it off.
- 3). Locate the oval shaped buttons on the top and bottom (now the left and right sides) of the computer. Push the buttons in and lift up on the case to open the computer.
- 4). Locate the multicolored cable on the back-left corner of the motherboard. There should be a small green tab directly behind the cable. Carefully pull out the green tab and set it aside in a safe place.
- 5). Close the computer and reconnect the cords and cables. Turn the computer back on and wait for it to load.
- 6). Turn the computer off when you get the "Password Disabled" message.
- 7). Disconnect the cables and reopen the computer case. Replace the small green tab in its original location. Close the computer and reconnect the cables.
- 8). Turn the computer on and press the "F2" button at the first start-up screen.
- 9). Scroll down to "System Security" with the arrow key and press "Enter."

Scroll down to "Setup Password" and press "Enter." Type the new password two times and press "Enter." - 11
Hit the "ESC" key twice to exit the program and reboot the computer.
