How to Get Wrinkles Out of a Brand New Nylon Jacket
- 1). Wash the jacket in cold water, on the delicate cycle. Add fabric softener during the final rinse.
- 2). Put the jacket in the tumble dryer on a low setting, or the permanent press cycle. Remove the jacket from the dryer immediately when the cycle is over to prevent unnecessary wrinkles.
- 3). Place the jacket on an ironing board. Fill the iron with water; put it on a warm setting. If the iron is too hot, it will melt the nylon.
- 4). Choose a wrinkled area on the jacket; iron the wrinkle while pressing the steam button. Use steam each time you iron a crease. The combination of steam with the hot iron will help smooth out the wrinkles. Do not hold the iron over one area for too long; you will risk damaging the jacket.
- 5). Continue to iron and steam the creases until they are smooth. Once your jacket is wrinkle-free, remove it from the ironing board. To keep the jacket from wrinkling again, always hang it up instead of folding it.
